Contract Stipulations and Benefits
1. Exclusivity
The teacher agrees to work exclusively for AEON during the contract period.

2. Contract
The initial contract is for one year. The contract is renewable upon agreement by both the teacher and AEON.

3. Working Hours
Five-day, 38-hour workweek. Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday schedule with some exceptions. Our teachers primarily work during the afternoon and evening.

4. Starting Monthly Salary
270,000 yen with a possible performance-based salary increase in subsequent years.

5. Overtime Rate
3,000 yen per hour after 25 hours of teaching a week.

6. Housing
A furnished, rent-subsidized, single-occupant apartment is provided. The key money and deposits are paid by AEON.

7. Monthly Expenses
The teacher is responsible for up to 55,000 yen of rent each month. AEON pays the amount over 55,000 yen. Commuting expenses are covered for teachers who live more than 1.5 km from work. Most teachers pay around 10,000 yen a month for utilities and 60,000 yen for food (approximations; the amount varies from person to person).

8. Insurance
Teachers will be covered by the Japanese National Social Insurance system. The insurance system comprises both health and pension insurance. For first year teachers, about 30,000 yen will be deducted from the monthly salary for insurance. The amount deducted for health insurance (approximately 10,000 yen) is non-refundable. However, the amount deducted for pension insurance (approximately 20,000 yen for first year teachers) is refundable. AEON will provide teachers with the necessary applications to submit to the Japanese government before the end of the teacher's final contract. More specific details will be covered during the interview process.

9. Vacation and Holidays
Three one-week vacations and Japanese national holidays, some of which may fall within vacation periods. Five paid personal days-off a year.

10. Transportation
Airfare to and from Japan is to be arranged and paid for by the teacher. Ground transportation provided from airport to training center to branch school.

11. Training
The teacher receives one week or more of paid training in Japan. Accommodations during the training period are provided at company expense.

12. Bonus
A one time cash bonus is provided upon completion of the final contract as follows:
After completing one year: 80,000 yen
After 1 year and 6 months: 120,000 yen
After 2 years or more: 160,000 yen

13. Processing Fee
After an applicant accepts a position, a non-refundable processing fee of $200 USD/CAD, $210 AUD, £100 GBP is required to cover part of the cost incurred.

14. Living & Setup Stipend
A one-time only stipend of 22,000 yen paid to employees that were hired abroad. This assistance will be paid during initial training in Japan to help teachers with start-up costs.
